The throne of God

Rev 22:1 "And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb."
For all of man's history, we have been trying to appease God. Every day, we try to be good enough. Everything we think and do within the context of religion is based upon our desire to get to heaven, or our fear of dying. But what if there was something more to life? What if God was a personal, compassionate, caring and creative genius waiting for mankind to discover the wonder, beauty and vigor that comes from a close, personal relationship with Him? What if you could find that relationship?
The bible ends with a prophecy. This prophecy predicts that mankind will find, as the foundation for the ruler ship of God, the source of all life. But what does this practically mean?
Gen 1:1 "In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth." "And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good." Gen 1:31. From the very begining, it is evident that everything God ever wanted was for our own good. This concept is repeated when God gives mankind His law. Hence we read, Deu 6:17-18 "Ye shall diligently keep the commandments of the LORD your God, and his testimonies, and his statutes, which he hath commanded thee. And thou shalt do that which is right and good in the sight of the LORD: that it may be well with thee..." Deu 6:24 "And the LORD commanded us to do all these statutes, to fear the LORD our God, for our good always..."
You see, the secret to everything in the word of God lies hidden within the personality of God. Once we try to see the wisdom, care, love, tenderness, understanding and compassion of God within His principles, they will become a blessing that will draw us closer to the heart of God. But there is a second aspect that runs hand in hand with God's greatness. It's called trust.
Within the knowledge of who God is lives a safety that surpasses the boundaries of human limitations. It's something so beautiful, so complete, that the only thing that can compare to it is the affection shown to a newborn by its parents. Within our fragile, finite beings; we cannot begin to understand the bigger picture. We will never realize what God has in store for us. Not even when His dreams for us are realized, can human intellect comprehend the value of a single moment within His presence.
If i may try to explain. Scientists stopped counting galaxies years ago. Yes we know of about 400 billion galaxies, but this number is at least a decade old. When we start to look at the structure of the universe, it would appear that galaxies are linked in clusters. Clusters in turn seem to be linked into super clusters. Super clusters are linked into filaments, which stretch through millions of light years. These filaments are also connected to form part of what seems to be a vast ocean strains. Every single sparkle in that universal web is in fact a galactic super cluster, which consists of thousands of galaxies. Then may I ask, who is this being that we call our God? Who is this being that created billions upon billions of galactic super clusters?
Now for the clincher, how much are you worth, if the God of heaven and earth came to die for you? How far will He go to secure your well being, if His life was worth paying for your salvation? If the God that is moving your solar system through space at a speed of about 220 km per second, would die for your well being, couldn't you find comfort in His love? Wouldn't His great power not guarantee your safety?
But the most powerful and caring intentions could still bring you harm. We need a God that is intimately acquainted with every detail of our lives. Hence we read, Heb 4:11-16 "Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief. For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do. Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession. For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need."
You see, this is the basis for the power of the word. God doesn't merely want you to obey. He wants you to find yourself within His principles. His heart is yearning for you to understand the beauty, meaning and hope that lives within His principles. He wants you to see His heart....
